Commemorative event at the Bayeux War Cemetery
Veterans and their families or descendants have been invited to register their interest for a commemorative event hosted by the Royal British Legion at the Bayeux War Cemetery.
Bayeux Cathedral service
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission, in partnership with the town of Bayeux, will host the annual Service of Thanksgiving at the Bayeux Cathedral on the evening of Wednesday 5 June.
Bayeux War Cemetery candlelit vigil
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission will lead an evening vigil at the Bayeux War Cemetery during which 4,500 graves will be illuminated.

The UK National Commemorative Event
The UK National Commemorative Event in Normandy will be held in the daytime on 6 June at the British Normandy Memorial in Ver-sur-Mer.
The British Normandy Memorial contains the names of the 22,442 servicemen and women under British command who fell on D-Day and during the Battle of Normandy in the summer of 1944.
This year’s 80th anniversary of D-Day will mark the first time this memorial has been at the heart of major anniversary commemorations.
The event will be broadcast live in the UK for those unable to attend in person.
